Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon on the Colorado River in Colorado is one of the seven natural wonders of the world.  It represents one of our planet’s most astonishing accomplishments, boasting an impressive display of erosion and Mother Earth’s natural beauty.  The Grand Canyon measures 277 miles long and 10 miles in width.  The depth is measured from the north rim and is slightly more than a mile.  The park area surrounding the Grand Canyon contains over a million acres of land.  It takes a full day to hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon – this does not include the trek back to the top.  The Grand Canyon National Park welcomes more than five million visitors each year.  There is a wealth of activities and attractions to keep you busy at the Grand Canyon no matter what season you visit.  Enjoy auto touring, backpacking, biking, bird watching, camping, cross country skiing, fishing, hiking, nature walks, snow skiing, snow shoeing, whitewater rafting, and wildlife watching.
